The exhibition “The Vesnin Brothers: The Beginning” reinterprets a classical architectural narrative through the lens of a spatial story about the formation of architects. The project focuses on the early stages of the creative journey of Leonid, Viktor, and Alexander Vesnin — architects whose work shaped the character of 20th-century Russian architecture.
The exhibition brings together academic graphic works, competition sketches, architectural drawings, historical and family photographs, documents, and letters — more than 200 objects that represent not only architectural solutions, but also the informational layers of the design process itself.
The exhibition architecture is conceived as a sequential route that reveals how an architect’s professional vision is formed. The sections of the exhibition connect biographical materials, student works, and early projects, allowing visitors to trace the transition from personal experience and education to a conscious architectural practice.
