India:
The Fabric of Time

Exhibition architecture and design
Tsaritsyno State Museum-Reserve, Moscow

842,2 м2

23.12.2025 - 12.04.2026

The exhibition “India: The Fabric of Time” presents a unique cultural dialogue between past and present through woven and embroidered works of Indian folk art. For the first time in Russia, masterpieces from the National Crafts Museum in Delhi are being shown to the public: hand embroidery, saris with gold ornamentation, delicate muslin turbans, and ceremonial wedding textiles from Punjab — objects that embody the rhythms of tradition, symbolic meaning, and the craftsmanship of artisans.

The exhibition is conceived as a space of textures and lines, where each display case, woven fragment, or textile panel enters into a visual dialogue with neighboring objects. Visitors move through successive “layers of time”: from encounters with Indian tradition and its interpretations in Europe and Russia to contemporary readings and current artistic practices.
